About this place
Taco soba, which takes the toppings of taco rice and serves them over noodles, is one of the dishes to look out for at Ryūkyū Sakaba. One diner who ordered it reported that the flat noodles also used for sōki soba were well coated with the taco meat, salsa and cheese. The combination offers a distinctive alternative to a rice-based meal, particularly if you want noodles to finish with.
For a more classic Okinawan noodle dish, consider the sōki soba. Another diner enjoyed its gently flavoured pork-bone broth with tender, long-simmered sōki, and said the pickled ginger added a refreshing tang. The menu highlights the bitter melon chanpuru for its soft-set egg. One customer also praised the balance of bitter melon and salty Spam, along with the vegetables’ remaining bite. There is plenty to choose from if you want a dish to accompany your noodles.
For drinks and small plates, look for sea grapes, Okinawan mozuku seaweed tempura and rafute, a braised pork dish. The drinks menu includes awamori, as well as beer and sours flavoured with shikuwasa citrus and pineapple. Ryūkyū Sakaba in Hatagaya opens at 16:00 from Tuesday to Saturday and stays open until 2:00 the following day.
